Get back on your bike with confidence.
Whether it's been a few years or a few decades since you last rode regularly, Pedal Ready is designed to help older riders rediscover the joy of cycling in a safe, supportive, and relaxed environment. There's no pressure, no racing — just friendly guidance at your own pace.
The session begins with a bike and helmet safety check to make sure you and your bike are road-ready. From there, experienced instructors will guide you through a series of practical skills designed to rebuild your confidence gradually and enjoyably.
You'll practise essential handling techniques including riding in a straight line, looking behind you while keeping control, one-handed riding, and emergency braking. You'll also get to grips with using your gears effectively — a small thing that makes a big difference on the road.
Once you're feeling comfortable, the session moves into an introduction to riding on the road. This covers where to position yourself, how to read and negotiate traffic, and how to approach intersections safely and confidently.
Always curious about electric bikes? You'll have the opportunity to try one during the session and experience the fun of riding with power-assist — a great option if you want a little extra help on hills or longer journeys.
