PEDAL READY INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
Pedal Ready is a Greater Wellington Regional Council cycle skills programme for children and adults across the region
What instructors do?
Pedal Ready instructors teach cycle skills to school aged children and adults. In a school setting, our instructors are responsible for groups of up to fifteen children teaching the core outcomes for Grade One. The ratio for Grade Two, on road instruction, is no more than ten students with two instructors. New instructors are mentored by experienced instructors.
If you are a keen and enthusiastic cyclist we’d like you to consider training with us. No other experience is necessary. Initially all new instructors attend an Instructor Training course. Participants learn how to plan, prepare and deliver sessions from the Guidelines Grades One and Two – including risk assessment for static and dynamic environments.
